About Me
Hello there! My name is Alexander Yanez but please just refer to me as Alex, I am thrilled to share my journey with you. Currently, I am pursuing my passion for computer science as I make my way through college. But before we dive into my academic pursuits, let me tell you a little about my background.
A Family Story
My parents immigrated from Mexico with dreams of a better future. My parents despite being some of the most intelligent people I know did not pursue higher education with my mother being the only parent to have a graduated high school, nevertheless they both worked tirelessly to give me and my younger siblings a great life, but as technology evolved, they often encountered technical issues that required troubleshooting something they weren’t as well versed in. But being the tech-savvy member of the family, I naturally became their go-to person for solving these problems.
Little did I know that these experiences would help me gain a passion for tech. Through helping my parents with their technical issues, I discovered my passion for software development. The satisfaction of solving problems and creating innovative solutions became my driving force behind my determination to become a software engineer.
A Path to Pursue
Fast forward to today, and I am on the cusp of moving up to the prestigious University of Washington. This transition marks an exciting milestone in my journey as I continue to expand my knowledge and skills in the field of computer science.
My Major Projects
Throughout my college journey, I have undertaken three major projects that have allowed me to explore different aspects of computer science. Each project has presented its own set of challenges, pushing me to grow both technically and creatively.
